What is an auto-equalizer?
The auto-Equalizer is pneumatically powered automatic door
operator that opens doors slowly to provide easy access for the
handicapped, elderly, and frail. Guardrails and safety mats are
not required because of the operator's unique, low kinetic energy
design.
Where to use an auto-equalizer?
The Auto-Equalizer system is specifically designed for dedicated
handicapped entries.
Note: Because of its slow opening characteristics, the Auto-Equalizer is not suitable for high speed, high volume traffic applications.
How does it work?
When actuated, the control box sends regulated, compressed air to
the operator's tandem air cylinders. The operator then swings the
door slowly open to a 90 degree position and holds it for up to
30 seconds. The system times, located in the control box, then
exhausts the air pressure, and the operator uses full spring
pressure and hydraulic regulation to close the door quietly.
Note: When the pneumatic operator is not in use the unit functions as regular door closer.
Control Units
Self contained control box with compressor mounted inside. Can be located within 50 ft. of the operator. Delay time up to 30 seconds, and output air pressure, from 5 to 80 PSI, can be easily adjusted to precisely taylor the system to individual door requirements. Controller can be located anywhere the temperature does not exceed 120º F, or fall below 35º. Input voltage 120V AC, 5 AMP. Output voltage 12VDC. Heavy Duty, surface mounted with hinged door for easy access.

System Notes
Actuators
Actuators are switches designed to activate the Auto-Equalizer and begin the opening cycle. Desired function and design of opening will determine the type of actuators used. Generally for two way traffic, and actuator is required on both the interior and exterior side of door.
