Astragals

An astragal is used to seal the space between a pair of doors. The simplest type would be an aluminum or bronze extrusion and neoprene or vinyl insert, surface mounted to the doors.

Astragals meeting stiles on double doors often present problems in door gasketing because of complex conditions and requirements. Each job should be carefully studied as to the specific requirements when selecting the appropriate weatherstrip.

Note that some astragals consist of two parts, one for each door, and should be so ordered.
