PROTECTION BARS & GUARDS ROCKWOOD

Latch Guard and Vertical Rod Cover

Problem: Vertical rod exit devices on existing doors inhibit use of doors by persons in wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices.

Solution: Install a Latch Guard (BFLG10). Designed to fit over most manufacturers bottom latch cases. (Up to 2 1/4" wide x 10" high x 2 1/4" projection.)

To help comply with the requirement for a smooth surface at the bottom of the door (ADA), Rockwood has developed this latch guard which features a 45 degree ramp to allow wheelchair footrest to slide over the vertical rod and latch. A matching vertical rod cover is also available for extra protection in high traffic or abuse areas.

The BFLG Latch Guard Covers are designed to be surface mounted over the bottom latch of surface vertical rod exit devices.

The BFRC Vertical Rod Cover is channel shaped. This product will protect the vertical rod from impact damage by gurneys and carts so that these vital devices will properly operate.
